'My partner and I stayed here in late June for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Previously we had always stayed in Glenelg. As this was a business trip and we needed to be near the Festival Centre I chose the Intercontinental. What an exceptional stay we had. We opted for the King Club Level room which was quite comfortable and had a large en suite. Separate tub and shower and a phone extension. The service was first rate from room service to front desk. I needed to check-in online for my air flights and as the Club Lounge was closed the front desk was happy to check-in for me on their system. The Club Lounge offered us a great breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages, baked tomato, sauteed mushrooms, sliced meats, cheese, cereal, pastries etc. You can ask for choice of eggs and they will make them for you. The staff remembered our breakfast order and the next day as we came through the door for breakfast they were already ordering it from the kitchen. Between 2.30 and 4.30 tea is offered with gourmet sandwiches and pastries. Between 5.30-7.30 we had cocktails and canapes with cheese board and fresh fruit. There was always refreshments available throughout the day. The hotel overlooks the river and is located within walking distance of the Cabaret Festival and the CBD main shopping street. We look forward to another stay at this understated hotel.'
